Here’s everything you need to know before your massage at Nurturing Recovery - FAQ'sÂ
What is a deep tissue massage?
This therapy releases stubborn knots by targeting the deeper muscle layers. It is a powerful way to ease chronic tension, improve mobility, and soothe those persistent aches in your back, neck, legs and shoulders. You will leave the clinic feeling lighter, more relaxed, and physically renewed. Some pain is normal with this type of massage, but it does subside.
Is sports massage just for pro athletes?
Not at all. Whether you are training for a marathon or just enjoy an active lifestyle, it helps everyone. This targeted approach focuses on muscle recovery, injury prevention, and boosting flexibility, ensuring your body is always ready for your next movement or challenge.
What happens during my first visit?
We begin with a short chat about your goals and health history. During the treatment, your comfort is my priority, and you will stay covered by professional draping. I use hand-picked techniques tailored to your needs, adjusting pressure throughout to ensure you feel settled and safe.
How can I book a session?
Reserving your time is effortless. Just click any 'Book Session' button to view my real-time calendar. Select a slot that suits your schedule, confirm the details, and you will receive a confirmation email immediately. Your path to recovery starts with just a few simple clicks.
What should I wear?
Wear loose, comfy clothing that’s easy to change out of. You’ll undress to your comfort level and be covered with towels at all times. I only uncover the area I’m working on (e.g. back, legs, shoulders). If you prefer to keep more clothing on (e.g. shorts, sports bra), that’s absolutely fine—just let me know.
What if I need to cancel or move?
I kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to change your appointment. This allows me to offer the time to another client who may be in need of treatment. Thank you for your understanding and for helping the clinic run smoothly for everyone seeking support.
Should I mention health conditions?
Absolutely. Your well-being is my primary concern, so please share any medical history or recent injuries during our talk. If you are feeling unwell or have a fever, we can simply reschedule for a better time. If you have any medical doubts, please check with your GP first.
